About the role
We're looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our new Young People's Missing from Home and Sexual Exploitation Service in Stoke and Staffordshire.
As Volunteer Coordinator, you will recruit, train, match and supervise volunteer Peer Mentors and Family Role Models to support identified children and families across Stoke and Staffordshire. This is a centralised role which will support all services across the two Local Authority areas, and therefore travel will be an integral part of the role.

Who we're looking for:
For this key role, we're looking for someone who:
Holds, or is willing to work towards a PTTLS (Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector) certificate or equivalent qualification;
Is experienced in working with volunteers/mentors in a community setting, and in recruiting, training, supervising, supporting, and generally developing a group of volunteers to provide first class support to service users.
Is knowledgeable about safeguarding, risk management and other procedural legislation and best practice in relation to engaging volunteers to deliver services of a similar nature;
Has an understanding of the risk factors, which may prevent children and families from achieving outcomes, and a good awareness of influences on parenting and parent-child relationships;
Can think creatively and who is willing to work in new and different ways to engage, support and enable improved outcomes for children.
Can demonstrate an ability to form positive professional relationships with children families, using language that is appropriate to the development of children, family culture and background;
Is able to work regular evenings and weekends as may be required by peer mentors, children and families;
Has a full driving licence and access to a vehicle;
